It's quite cold in Toronto now. Yesterday, on a bright morning, I took these photographs. I was drawn to the drama of the steam and/or smoke rising from the chimneys.

I'm enjoying photographing these interior scenes. I was drawn to the contrast of light and dark in this image and the shifting, somewhat fragmented view of the room in the mirror.
Here's another photograph from the Art Gallery of Ontario this past Sunday, Jan. 5. I'm a member and was eating in the Members' Lounge. I had taken my camera along and because I enjoy looking at different angles, I looked up and took this.
I was at the Art Gallery of Ontario yesterday. The new buildings were designed by the architect Frank Gehry. One very beautiful part of the new design is a spiral staircase. Here's another photograph--one I took a few days ago. I loved the light through the screen, casting shadows of the plant and curtain. You can see a sliver of the plant through the space between the screen panels.
I took this photo in mid December and thought it would be right for a very young 2014.
