Finally, this week I did something I've been planning to do for a while. I created a page about the most popular art work I've done--my card deck, Mirrors of the Heart. It's made of linocuts I created in 1994 and had offset printed. There are other images from the deck in the Mirrors category.
This is another photo in a series of interiors I've taken, from early this year or late last year. Because of the drama of the lighting, I took it in black and white to heighten the contrast.
I've included two photos in this post of the lino block that I carved in 2005 that led to the print I call Observer. I first painted an image on the block. Here's a variation on the theme of the birth of imaginary goddesses. This is another linocut that I made in 1974, again under my former married name.
Here's another linocut I made in the 1970s. Again, the theme has to do with an imaginary goddess. This time she doesn't appear, but one of her masks does.
In keeping with prints on the theme of birth, here's a mythological scene I hand carved and hand printed in 1974. I did several prints at the time on imagined goddesses. This is one of them, in celebration of spring.
This is a linocut I made in 1983 that was printed in a women's health journal. The article was on midwifery. I hand carved and handprinted the image. I've put the linocut up for sale in my etsy shop.
