While I was travelling recently, I stayed in a house in the countryside. There, the owners had hung a lovely tiny antique dress on a wall. I don’t know if it was a doll’s dress or that of an infant. I first photographed the dress in full, but kept seeing it cut in half in my mind. So, I went back and took this photo in which only part of the dress shows. The play of the light and shadows on the wall and on the fabric became an important part of the image.
