Save Public Healthcare

In recent months I’ve been awake in the middle of the night, both afraid and outraged by many of the grave injustices and wars plaguing Canada, where I live, and the world right now. One of the issues that disturbs me greatly is the march toward the destruction of Canada’s universal single payer public healthcare system. I won’t go into the details of the underfunding and attacks on the system or its blind spots. But if you’re interested, here’s a link to excellent information and analysis by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.

One night around a month ago I realized that my silence was hurting me. I needed to express some of my feelings whether they result in public healthcare being saved and improved or not.

This is a scratchboard image I’ve made that arose out of those periods of insomnia.
