I love the composition, the large “untouched” black areas versus the lighter ones, more worked over, I can see the pleasure you had carving those lines!
Thank you, merci. You are right about my enjoyment in carving the lines. Carving is my favourite part of printmaking, along with taking the first proof which is always a surprise.
I was in the studio today and seeing my printing press, I remembered your comment, you have summed up in a few words all the joy of printing… carving the lines, the surprise of the first print… It is exactly that!
