Earlier this month, while walking home late in the afternoon, I noticed that the light was washing with gold everything it fell on. The contrast with the deep stormy clouds was beautiful to me. So, out came my phone and I took several photos. Here's one of them.

Captivated by Autumn
I have loved this autumn. Last week, I was on the grounds of Todmorden Mills Heritage Site to see an art exhibit and enjoy the still colourful day before the more muted part of autumn arrived. A few years ago, I started experimenting with black and white photography in the fall just to see what would arise in… Continue reading Captivated by Autumn
The Past Few Weeks
It's been a radiant fall in Toronto and is just past the peak now. On an abnormally warm day (it's going up to 19 degrees celsius) and before the leaves fall any further, here's three photos from the past few weeks. The middle photo of the maple is on the University of Toronto campus--on Philosopher's Walk. The… Continue reading The Past Few Weeks
Purple and Orange
This beautiful morning, with purple clouds and orange leaved trees: Toronto 8:10 a.m, looking southwest.
After the Storm
We had a day of much much rain and wind yesterday. The tail end of Hurricane Patricia was passing through and we may still be having the aftereffects with high winds continuing today. Last night, the clouds were beautifully dramatic over downtown Toronto and Lake Ontario. I'm in a large city, where I look to the… Continue reading After the Storm
Autumn in Toronto
It's fall in Toronto. Our election is over and we do have a new Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, from the Liberal Party. The Blue Jays are in a do or die situation. And the glorious leaves are shining gold. Here's a photo I took late last week while returning home from a visit with a… Continue reading Autumn in Toronto
Diamond Reflections 2
We went kayaking 2 days later on the same stream in Algonquin Park and saw more scenes of great beauty.
Diamond Reflections
Earlier this month I was in Algonquin Park in Ontario. There we went for day hikes and went kayaking off Lake Opeongo. On a day when the stream was totally smooth, we saw reflections so clear that you couldn’t, at first, tell where the water and land began or ended. Fabulous designs were formed from… Continue reading Diamond Reflections
Merger
I have two blogs--this and a nature blog that I've hardly posted on in a while. So far I've divided these two parts of my life in my blogs but I've decided to merge them. After all, being in nature goes hand in hand with my being able to create. So I'm including a new heading of nature photography in… Continue reading Merger
